Company History

Northern Glass Co., Inc. has continuously operated since 1949 when it was originally founded and located on Newell Street in Watertown.   This began our history of providing quality glazing services to the construction industry, commercial and residential markets.  In the early 1960’s, the company was relocated to our present location at the junction of NYS Route 37 and US Route 11.

In the early 1970’s John Hill took over as General Manager and in 1979 purchased the company, continuing the tradition of glazing services in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties.  Many large scale and unique projects were completed during this time and included the addition of a retail store and auto glass installation services. 

In 1992 John and wife Jean retired, turning the “reins” over to their children; daughter Linda Petrie, and son, Ian Hill.  Linda and Ian continue a proud tradition of providing services throughout the tri-county region.  Northern Glass Company’s strength is its team of dedicated professionals and customer service personnel who place customer satisfaction and quality installations as their top priority.  Northern Glass Company works hard to maintain our reputation for providing quality services in our community.
